YMTC is hiring for our 2023 Winter and Summer Productions of Sunday in the Park with George and Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Sunday in the Park with George:
Rehearsals and Production Meetings start in January at our shop/rehearsal space in Berkeley. Load in and shows in Oakland at the Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts.
March 7th-11th – Load in
March 12th-16th – Tech
March 17th-19th/24th-26th – Performances
March 27th – Strike
Hunchback of Notre Dame:
Production Meetings start in late May, rehearsals begin in June at our shop/rehearsal space in Berkeley. Load in and shows are at El Cerrito High school.
July 5th-8th – Load in
July 9th-13th – Tech
July 14th-16th/21st-23rd – Performances
July 24th – Strike
The TD/ SET BUILDER will execute the building of all scenic elements. They will work closely with the Scenic Designer and the Production Manager to plan and construct by the production schedule’s deadlines. They will be responsible for all material purchases, and overseeing load-in and strike. The TD/Set Builder can also arrange any overhire personnel required with prior approval from the Production Manager. The TD/Set Builder may or may not have a student apprentice to mentor throughout the process and will have access to parent/community volunteers.
The SCENIC PAINTER will work closely with the Scenic Designer, Prop Designer, TD/Builder, and the Production Manager to paint the scenic elements. Job duties include scenic painting of backdrops/set pieces/props, pulling and purchasing materials needed for the paint jobs, and overseeing volunteers (as needed) and/or mentees (student apprenticeship program).
The LIGHTING DESIGNER will design the lights for YMTC’s production in close collaboration with show’s Directors, Technical Director, and Production Manager. They will be for the load in of any additional lighting equipment needed and the oversight of hanging, focusing and coloring of lighting instruments, instructing the student light board operator, troubleshooting or making adjustments during the run of the show if necessary, and striking the show (restoring the theaters light plot and returning all rented equipment). The LD may or may not have a student apprentice to mentor throughout the process. The LD can be the ME or work with an ME or assistant, which will determine the stipend amount.
The VIDEO PROJECTION ARTIST will design and implement projections for YMTC’s Sunday in the Park with George.
